GEANT mreža povezuje 34 NRENa, nacionalne istraživačke i obrazovne mreže (NREN mreže). AMRES, tj. NREN za Srbiju je uključen učesnik u projektu.

-===== Objectives =====
-
-The overall objective is to address key challenges for the European campus networks and provide an evolving and to-the-point set of best-practice documents for the community.
-
-An objective will be the ability to challenge individual NRENs to reinforce their national efforts. Better synchronisation of national research networking and campus issues is essential for viable end-to-end services. Another target is to find the means to develop and maintain national, and possibly Europe-wide, best-practice recommendations/documents. As in the [[gigacampus:about|GigaCampus]] project, an IETF-style working model can be considered for the working groups in the countries served by the pilot NRENs (see below).
-
-===== Work Plan =====
-
-The Task will address national campus coordination activities, analogous to what has been achieved in the GigaCampus project run by UNINETT, the Norwegian NREN organisation. Four pilot NRENs will have a central role in the Task, namely UNINETT, FUNET, CESNET and AMRES. The Task will initially focus on the campuses in the four corresponding countries. The experiences from the pilot NREN countries will be made available for the European NREN and campus community as a whole.
-
-Each pilot NREN will take the necessary initiatives and coordinate the activities for the different technical areas in its country . Examples of such areas are: physical infrastructure, network, mobility, security, operations/measurements, multimedia, etc. Participants from the relevant technical units at the universities will be invited to working groups, which will work to propose recommendations.
-
-As the results and recommendations from the countries of the pilot NRENs become available, they will be actively disseminated to the wider European NREN and campus communities. Recommendations and experiences will be laid down in best-practice documents, which will be translated if needed. The results of the work will be presented at suitable events in different countries. When other NRENs want to set up similar national structures and activities, the pilot NRENs will provide support and advice.
-
-The Task will provide technical background material for possible joint procurements of groups of universities, based on the consensus on recommendations and requirements achieved in the Task, thereby increasing their purchasing power and reducing duplication of work.
-
-===== Events =====
-
-  * [[kickoff_may_2009|Kickoff event]] for the task is set for May 27-28 in Trondheim. Two full days.
